We are pleased to introduce the REGNANT group, which is poised to play a leading role worldwide in the efficient use of available natural resources with major emphasis on renewable energy. Our group encompasses professional expertise in the fields of Lighting, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Efficient Appliances, Power Storage Devices and Healthy Lifestyle Products etc.

The word ‘REGNANT’ has its roots in the Latin word ‘regnāre’, which means ‘to reign’, ‘to rule’, and ‘to be predominant and widespread.’ Our aspirations are those of leadership in all endeavors we undertake, of establishing ourselves in the hearts and minds of all those who associate with us. We strive to achieve perfection and maintain the highest standards of quality and workmanship in all our products. After all, as a wise man once said; ‘The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.’

The seeds for the company were sown circa 1980 in a small midtown Manhattan Office just down the block from the Empire State Building, New York City, USA. A young, struggling entrepreneur with a vision, Praveen Kumar Sood, who was from a humble middle class Indian family, came to New York with only a few dollars in his pocket. What he had aplenty was the zeal to succeed above and beyond his means. Never intending to leave his motherland and settle for foreign shores, he always wanted to return home with the best in the world for his country, his people.

Electronics had always been his calling and he was already writing articles for various Electronics Magazines while still in college. So, quite expectedly, he wandered into the wonderful world of Electronics Components. He started picking up wholesale lots from manufacturers in the United States and distributing them all over India through a highly sophisticated and meticulous distribution mechanism for which he is still known and respected by his associates in the Electronic Component Industry in India.

Not satisfied with his flourishing Electronics Business and always staying at the forefront of technology, he ventured into the business verticals of SMF batteries and Energy Efficient Lighting products, built a hugely successful brand, and established a vast, pan-India distribution network in a short span of time. However, unable at the time to build a truly professional team that could take his ventures to the heights they deserved, he decided to wind up and take a sabbatical in order to prepare for his next venture.

Building on to the roots of his previous company, and armed with leading professionals from the industry on his team, he believes that this is the opportune moment for reaping fruit from the tree he has nurtured since his days of yore.

New York City seems to work as a lucky charm for Praveen. In this second innings, he is ably assisted by his son, Rishabh, who has been in New York City for the past five years and has acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and is currently wrapping up a Master’s Degree in Finance from New York University. Even as he is finishing the degree, he works full time from New York to take care of the Finance and Operations divisions at Regnant and is relishing the experience. Having inherited his father’s passion for Energy Conservation and efficiency, he is also a LEED Accredited Professional certified by the United States Green Building Council and is driving Regnant’s LED Lighting initiative. He is at the forefront of the latest in lighting practices and part of his role is to foster research collaborations with the best Academic Institutions worldwide and arrange international funding for Regnant’s research initiatives. He is already conducting research relating to LEDs and other lamp sources at his alma mater, New York University, and has plans to implement various new technologies at Regnant’s factory that is being established in Uttarakhand.
